This conference was first of its kind from south India which dealt with different aspects of water pollution and its purification. The major beneficiaries were research students and post-graduate students from different fields like Chemistry, Engineering and Environmental Sciences. A total of 125 were attended the conference from different parts of the world. The main objective of the conference was to bring together the experts who are working in the field of water treatment and to discuss the recent developments in water and waste water treatment technologies. The 3 days schedule was comprised of Plenary talks, Invited talks, Short talks and also poster presentations by young researchers. This conference was a great success in meeting its goals and was decided to conduct the same once in every two years.
