ICMS-2015 was the second in the series of conferences on mass spectrometry and it was organized in collaboration with School of Environmental Sciences. It gave a broader perspective about the subject. It was visible that mass spectrometry has evolved as one of the most powerful tool in disease diagnosis, environmental pollution monitoring and toxicology. The conference was inaugurated by the Hon. Vice Chancellor of M. G. University and the key note address was given by Dr. Suresh Das, Chariman, KSCSTE. There were participation of scientists and researchers from various interdisciplinary areas and from various parts of the world. Some of the prominent speakers were Dr. Marc J-F Suter (Eawag, Switzerland), Prof. Athula Attygalle (Stevens Institute of Technology, USA), Prof. Olivier Laprevote (Paris Descartes University, France), Dr. R. Srinivas (National Center for Mass Spectrometry, India), Dr. Keshava Prasad (Institute of Bioinformatics, India), Prof. Evgeny Nikolaev (The Institute for Energy Problems of Chemical Physics Russian Academy of Sciences, Russia), Dr. Suman S. Thakur (Centre for Cellular & Molecular Biology, Hyderabad), Dr. Laurent Debrauwer (Universitè de Toulouse, France), Dr. Pierangela Palma (Università di Urbino, Italy), Dr. M. Joseph (Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research,
Kalpakkam), Dr. Bhaswati Chattergee (NIPER-Hyderabad), Dr. Amit Kumar Mandal (Johns Research Institute, Bangalore), Dr. George Mathai (S.H. College, Thevara), Dr. Venkateswarlu Panchagnula (NCL, Pune, India) and Prof. Michael W. Linscheid (Humboldt-Universitaet zu Berlin, Germany).
